Dr. Tejal Raju is double board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Management. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia graduating with honors in Chemistry. She earned her medical degree cum laude from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She completed a 4 year anesthesiology residency at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine/Cooper University Hospital. She then completed a multi-disciplinary pain management fellowship at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital of Columbia University College and Surgeons in New York City.
After completing her fellowship, Dr. Raju moved back to Southwest Virginia and joined Carilion Clinic. Wanting to be closer to her home with her husband and 2 children, Dr. Raju decided to join Virginia Interventional Pain and Spine Center and is now their lead physician in the second office location in Christiansburg, Virginia.
Dr. Raju was born and raised in Virginia. She has fulfilled her dream of returning back home as a pain management physician. She enjoys providing interventional pain solutions to the underserved community in Southwest Virginia. She hopes to reduce and eliminate acute and chronic pain conditions with her specialized training and procedures. This will allow her patients to live productive, pain-free lives. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
