Basivertebral Nerve Ablation

Also referred to as the Intracept® Procedure, this treatment involves ablation of the basivertebral nerve, which carries pain signals originating from damaged vertebral bodies and endplates.

Bursa Injections

A bursa injection involves injecting a mixture of a local anesthetic and a steroid directly into an inflamed bursa to reduce irritation and alleviate pain around the joint.

Cervical Radiofrequency Denervation (Cervical RFA or Cervical Rhizotomy)

A minimally invasive procedure used to treat chronic neck pain, typically caused by arthritis or degeneration in the facet joints of the cervical spine.

Epidermal Nerve Fiber Density Testing (ENFD)

Epidermal Nerve Fiber Density (ENFD) testing is a diagnostic procedure used to evaluate small fiber neuropathy by measuring the number of small sensory nerve fibers in the skin. A small skin biopsy is taken, typically from the lower leg, and analyzed under a microscope to assess nerve fiber density. This test helps diagnose conditions that affect small nerve fibers, often before changes appear on traditional nerve conduction studies.

Epidural Injections (Interlaminar/Transforaminal)

  • Caudal Epidural Steroid Injection is a minimally invasive procedure in which anti-inflammatory medication is delivered into the lower part of the epidural space (near the tailbone) to relieve pain caused by conditions such as herniated discs, spinal stenosis, or sciatica.

  • Cervical Interlaminar or transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injection: Delivers anti-inflammatory medication into the epidural space in the neck to reduce nerve inflammation and relieve pain from conditions like herniated discs or spinal stenosis.
  • Lumbar Interlaminar or transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injection: delivers anti-inflammatory medication directly to the nerve root in the lower back, reducing pain, inflammation, and nerve irritation.
  • Thoracic Interlaminar or transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injection: Delivers anti-inflammatory medication into the epidural space of the mid-back to reduce pain, inflammation, and nerve irritation caused by conditions like herniated discs or spinal stenosis.

Facet Injections

  • Cervical Facet Injection: Delivers anti-inflammatory medication directly into the inflamed joints of the neck to reduce pain caused by arthritis, whiplash injuries, or related conditions, often relieving discomfort radiating to the shoulders, upper back, and head.
  • Lumbar Facet Injection: Deliver anti-inflammatory medication directly into the facet joints of the lower back to reduce pain and inflammation caused by arthritis or injury.

Ganglion Impar Blocks

A ganglion impar block involves injecting an anesthetic and anti-inflammatory medication near the ganglion impar nerve cluster to relieve chronic pelvic, tailbone, or rectal pain by interrupting pain signals from the affected area.

Intracept Procedure

The Intracept Procedure is a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure for patients with vertebrogenic pain. The procedure targets a specific nerve within the vertebra called the basivertebral nerve and has been shown to improve function and relieve pain long-term. The procedure is implant-free, preserving future treatment options for other spine conditions.

Intrathecal Pump Therapies for Chronic Pain

An intrathecal pump therapies involves temporarily delivering pain medication directly into the spinal fluid through a catheter to evaluate if it reduces chronic pain by at least 50% before permanent implantation.

Genicular Nerve (Knee) Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

A minimally invasive procedure that targets the genicular nerves—sensory nerves surrounding the knee joint—to interrupt pain signals and provide long-lasting relief from chronic knee pain, often due to arthritis or post-surgical pain.

Lumbar Discography

Lumbar discography is a diagnostic procedure that involves injecting contrast dye into spinal discs to identify the specific disc causing lower back pain.

Lumbar Radiofrequency Denervation

Lumbar radiofrequency denervation uses heat generated by radio waves to target and deactivate the medial branch nerves in the lower back, providing long-term relief from facet joint pain.

Medial Branch Blocks

  • Cervical Medial Branch Block: Diagnostic procedure that involves injecting an anesthetic near the medial branch nerves in the neck to temporarily block pain signals and identify if the facet joints are the source of neck, shoulder, or upper back pain.
  • Thoracic Medial Branch Blocks are diagnostic and therapeutic injections used to target the medial branch nerves that supply the facet joints in the mid-back. By injecting a local anesthetic near these nerves, this procedure helps determine whether the facet joints are the source of thoracic spine pain and can provide temporary relief to improve mobility and function. If effective, this may lead to longer-lasting treatments like radiofrequency ablation.

  • Lumbar Medial Branch Block: Injecting anesthetic near the medial branch nerves in the lower back to temporarily block pain signals and diagnose or treat facet joint pain.

Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression (MILD)

The mild® procedure is a minimally invasive outpatient surgery for lumbar spinal stenosis that relieves nerve compression by removing excess ligament tissue.

Peripheral Nerve Blocks

Peripheral nerve blocks involve injecting anesthetic near specific nerves outside the spinal cord to block pain signals and provide targeted pain relief for various conditions or surgical recovery.

Piriformis Muscle Injections

Piriformis muscle injections deliver a combination of anesthetic and anti-inflammatory medication directly into the piriformis muscle to relieve pain and reduce nerve irritation, often associated with sciatica.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

A regenerative treatment that uses a concentrated dose of the patient’s own platelets, derived from a small blood draw, to promote healing and reduce inflammation. PRP is injected into injured or painful areas—such as joints, tendons, or muscles—to accelerate tissue repair and support long-term pain relief. This non-surgical option is commonly used for arthritis, soft tissue injuries, and chronic joint pain.

Prolotherapy

Prolotherapy is an injection-based treatment that stimulates the body’s natural healing process by injecting a solution into injured or weakened ligaments, tendons, or joints to promote tissue repair and reduce chronic pain.

Sacrococcygeal Ligament Injections

Sacrococcygeal ligament injections deliver anti-inflammatory medication into the ligaments near the tailbone to reduce pain, inflammation, and discomfort caused by injury or conditions like coccydynia.

Sacroiliac Joint (SI Joint)

  • Sacroiliac Joint Injection (SIJ)
: deliver a combination of anesthetic and anti-inflammatory medication directly into the sacroiliac joint to reduce pain and inflammation in the lower back, buttocks, or pelvis.
  • Sacroiliac Joint Fusion (SIJF): SI joint fusion is a minimally invasive procedure that stabilizes the sacroiliac joint by fusing the bones with

Spinal Cord Stimulation

Spinal cord stimulation therapy involves implanting a device that sends mild electrical signals to the spinal cord, blocking pain signals and providing long-term relief for chronic pain.

Sympathetic Nerve Blocks

  • Celiac Plexus Sympathetic Block: A celiac plexus sympathetic block targets and numbs the cluster of nerves transmitting pain signals from organs like the stomach, liver, and pancreas, effectively relieving abdominal and mid-back pain caused by injury, trauma, or surgery.

  • Ganglion Impar Block is a sympathetic nerve block that targets the ganglion impar, a cluster of nerves near the tailbone, to relieve chronic pelvic, rectal, or tailbone pain by interrupting pain signals in the lower pelvic region.

  • Lumbar Sympathetic Nerve Block: A lumbar sympathetic block involves injecting anesthetic near the sympathetic nerves in the lower back to relieve pain and improve circulation in the legs, often used for conditions like complex regional pain syndrome or peripheral neuropathy.

  • Stellate Ganglion Sympathetic Block: A stellate ganglion sympathetic block involves injecting anesthetic near the stellate ganglion nerves in the neck to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and improve circulation in the head, neck, chest, or upper extremities.
  • Superior Hypogastric Sympathetic Plexus Blocks: A superior hypogastric plexus block involves injecting anesthetic near the nerves of the pelvis to relieve chronic pelvic pain caused by conditions such as endometriosis, pelvic cancer, or interstitial cystitis.

Trigger Point Injections

Trigger point injections deliver a local anesthetic and sometimes a steroid directly into painful muscle knots to relieve tension, reduce pain, and improve mobility.

Thoracic Radiofrequency Denervation

Thoracic radiofrequency denervation uses radio waves to deactivate nerves in the mid-back, reducing chronic pain caused by facet joint dysfunction or arthritis.

Vertebroplasty & Kyphoplasty

Vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty are minimally invasive procedures that stabilize vertebral compression fractures and relieve pain by injecting bone cement into the damaged vertebra, with kyphoplasty also restoring height using a balloon.
