Dr. Tejal Raju, M.D.
Dr. Tejal Raju is Double Board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Management. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia graduating with honors in Chemistry. She earned her medical degree cum laude from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She completed a 4 year anesthesiology residency at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine/Cooper University Hospital. She then completed a multi-disciplinary pain management fellowship at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital of Columbia University College and Surgeons in New York City.
After completing her fellowship, Dr. Raju moved back to Southwest Virginia to be closer to her family. She opened Virginia Interventional Pain and Spine Centers’ second office location in March of 2014 located in Christiansburg, Virginia.
Dr. Raju was born and raised in Virginia. Dr. Raju enjoys providing interventional pain solutions to the underserved community in Southwest Virginia. In addition, she plans to educate the community that most of chronic pain conditions can be avoided by effectively treating acute pain aggressively. For those patients suffering from chronic pain, she brings her unique abilities in not only diagnosing and but treating these pain conditions with the most advanced, minimally invasive procedures available today. This allows her patients to live productive, pain-free lives without the reliance on medications. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
